What our guests say about us …

  • "We've just returned from another weekend at Dinham Weir House, this time for couples. We once again had private chef Harry from Evatt & Bullock looking after us, which really enhances the stay, but as previously, the house is set up brilliantly for groups. The owner cannot do enough to make your stay the very best it can be, advising, assisting and accommodating special requests. The location is superb with stunning views of the river, yet only a short walk into the centre of Ludlow. We are already planning our next visit and can't wait to return"

  • "After a wonderful week at the Dinham Weir House last summer, we had been looking for another excuse to revisit this fabulous house. It was perfect for another family celebration and accommodated 8 of us with plenty of room to spare. Liz gave us a very warm welcome and reminded us of all the amazing facilities including the great bar area, covered patio area right next to the river and the Den, which was perfect for watching the action from the Olympics :)) On Saturday evening we were treated to a delicious meal prepared for us by the very talented Harry Bullock, who "lives" in the garage ;) As was the case last time, service was provided by Ruby and Jen and was absolutely faultless. Thank you all. From relaxing by the river, board games at the massive dinner table, to drinks around the fire pit, we really made the most of our weekend at this most special property. We would not hesitate to recommend it for a special family gathering and look forward to finding yet another reason to come back again :)"

  • "We’ve just arrived home from the most glorious week spent with family at Dinham Weir House. We received a warm welcome from Liz and she gave us a detailed walk around the property to show us how everything worked. The property was clean and tastefully decorated with a professional kitchen, bar area, spacious dining area and beautiful garden complete with fire pit, water feature and seating areas. We liked the mix of lighting around the property. The rooms were comfortable with river views, lounge areas and kitchenette. Fans were provided which we needed as we lucked out with the warm weather. The house was well equipped with kitchen utensils, dishwasher tablets, cleaning spray, utility area, washing liquid, airer etc which meant we could keep on top of cleaning and washing. The location is perfect next to the river and we made use of the access to the wild swimming spot most days, launching our paddle board or taking evening dips. For those not wanting to dip their toes the walk round to the river is short and fairly flat. Ludlow itself is a lovely town with plenty of eateries and a market most days. We travelled further afield a couple of days but most of the time I personally enjoyed relaxing at the house, in the garden or by the river with the sound of the weir and a good book. It was just the chill out I needed from my week here. Thank you to all of the team who made our stay so special."

We engaged Harry (private chef) to cook for us on Saturday night - the food was exceptional and he delivered a truly memorable experience. Look no further in Ludlow! Strongly recommended"

  • "Dinham Weir House is one of the most beautiful houses I have had the pleasure of staying in. The location on the river is perfect, every bedroom is like a 5* hotel suite. We stayed as a family milestone celebration and the house was wonderful. As an entertaining space its wonderful, professional kitchen, a bar, the best dining space and atmospheric lighting inside and out. The house has EVERYTHING you could need. I highly recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you Jude, Liz and all at Dinham for making it such a memorable stay"

Liz explained all the workings clearly on arrival and made you feel welcome straight away and we look forward to returning soon.. Thank you for some great memories..."

  • "Came from London and it was just the escape I needed. Jude was so lovely and we had a room over looking the river. Instantly felt calm and refreshed. The rooms and house are so beautiful! Can’t wait to come again. We even swam 3 times in the river. Highly recommend a dip just before driving home. Can’t fault it and I’ll be booking again with friends"

    Kitty Coles - September 2023

  • "Me and my family had such a lovely stay here this week. Overall our stay was superb and there was very little to fault. We rented a hot-tub which was lovingly setup underneath the balcony under the festoon lighting. The hosts even went the extra mile and made sure it was heated for our arrival. The housekeeper and Liz in particular was such attentive hosts who clearly love the house and surrounding town. We are already enquiring about returning in summer. 10/10"

    Jonathan Annal - February 2024

  • "This was our first stay at Dinham Weir House (early February 24) having found it after much research for a suitable place for my twin and I to celebrate our 70th birthdays with our 4 other brothers and partners (12 adults). The description on the website does not exaggerate one tiny little bit and the excellent reviews are not surprising having now had the pleasure of staying there. It proved to be a perfect choice for the occasion: lovely house in a private setting, great views, spacious & airy living area, tastefully decorated, huge dining table big enough for us all to sit round, a bar, sumptuous bedrooms with superb quality ensuite bathrooms. Liz gave us a very warm welcome and explained the workings of the house – everything worked faultlessly. Our stay was topped by Harry, the in-house chef preparing an exquisite dinner and served by his delightful team. We won’t be waiting for the next big birthday to stay there again!"

    Adrian Collins - February 2024

  • "We spent a lovely week at Dinham Weir House. The house is fabulous, it's situated on the weir a short (uphill) walk from Ludlow town and castle. 6 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, seating areas, tea/coffee making facilities and fridges. The master suite has the added bonus of a walk in wardrobe/dressing area and a balcony overlooking the weir/river with fantastic views. The house has everything you need and more, we particularly loved the bar. Jude was very helpful from start to finish. Ludlow is a lovely town with lots of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs and there was a market most days during the week we were there. The castle is definitely worth a visit. We didn't use the car once, plenty of walks from the house. We even watched Ludlow play rugby on Saturday. Hopefully we'll be back. Thank you Jude and the team, we had a memorable week at Dinham Weir House"

    Karen Keenan - February 2023

  • "Dinham Weir House was simply amazing. We all had a fabulous weekend surrounded by beautiful views and within a moments walks of Ludlow centre. The house is exquisitely decorated with lots of space to unwind and relax. We would highly recommend treating yourself to the suggested inhouse chef. Harry, who along with his team, cooked us quite simply one of the best meals we've ever had whilst looking after everyone so carefully, making a truly special holiday even more perfect. The service he offered was the icing on the cake of a magical getaway"

    Lizzie Pellowe - February 2023

  • "Visited on last week of January - into February to celebrate three birthdays and our wedding anniversary with siblings, children, grandchildren, in-laws + BFF. This was our second visit to the house and in the words of our 4 year old grandson "they've made it even more lovelier". The grandchildren had great games of hide and seek throughout the house and we made full use of the facilities including the fire pit. Jude had arranged very good weather for us again and we made the most of t with walks along the river and into Ludlow to the cafés and pubs. Kin Kitchen did lovely food and the Ludlow sausage baguette at Ye Old Bull Ring Tavern were wonderful. The atmosphere in both establishments was great; very friendly. We enjoyed a sublime meal cooked by Harry, the on site chef, which we are still talking about and we are kicking ourselves for not booking him for our previous visit but he is on the must have list for next time. We are planning an August visit to experience the house in its summer attire as both previous visits were mid winter. The only problem encountered was that the sports mad person in our party was unable to get the TV in his room (the separate Weir House) to work despite entering a code. The following day a brand new TV was delivered and installed for him and the WiFi was being upgraded as we left. Dinham Weir House is a very special experience and everyone connected with it really go out of their way to make it work for you. Leaving there is very sad and I'm so glad another visit is in the pipeline"
